Main Street is about to get a new name, for a couple of days, anyway.
Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard will designate Main Street in the Arts & Design District as Avenue of the Arts Sept. 23 and 24 during the Carmel International Arts Festival. He will honor the festival at 11 a.m. Sept. 23 by unveiling the sign at a dedication ceremony at Main Street and Range Line Road. The ceremony is open to the public.
The mayor proclaimed the weekend of Sept. 23 and 24 as “Carmel International Arts Festival Celebration of the Arts.” The 20th annual festival features work from more than 130 artists. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 24. Admission is free.
