With at least eight new businesses announcing plans to open in Whitestown in the coming months, the town continues to live up to its reputation as the fastest-growing community in the state.

“This crazy growth phase is kind of the normal for us right now. We know what an amazing place this is to live and raise a family, and we believe this is due to the fact we have such a sense of community here,” said Tanya Sumner, Whitestown director of public relations. “With great schools, retail shops, restaurants and green spaces available to our residents, it’s not surprising families and businesses alike want to be a part of our ever-changing environment.”

The new businesses include Chick-fil-A, Jimmy John’s, Noble Roman’s Craft Pizza & Pub, McAlister’s Deli, Wendy’s, a dental practice and a nail salon(both currently unnamed) and Parkway Dental Care, which held a ribbon cutting Oct. 11. They’ll be in the Anson Retail District of Whitestown, either along or right off of Whitestown Parkway.

Sumner said the addition of Chick-fil-A is welcome news to residents who’ve been vocal over the years they’d like to see the chain open in Whitestown.

“Chick-fil-A’s been aspiring to build here for quite some time but had to wait until our town grew to the point it made sense for their business model. Our residents couldn’t be more thrilled,” she said. “The McAlister’s Deli announcement also resonated extremely well with our residents.”

Sumner said the Noble Roman’s Craft Pizza & Pub – which is geared toward creating a great atmosphere for families, wine and beer connoisseurs and sports lovers – has also been well received.

“Their dining room is hip, relaxed and comfortable with 13 large screens, a wine bar that serves 16 different wines, as well as 29 different beers, including a wide variety of craft and on-tap selections,” Sumner said. “And kids can enjoy 25 cent craft root beer. We already have some great pizza options here in Whitestown with Pizza King, Pie Five Pizza and Fox’s Pizza Den, but they all offer a different product and a different atmosphere, so we think there’s enough room for all of them to succeed.”

Sumner said commercial and residential growth is something the town has come to expect and enjoy throughout the community.

“Fortunately, we’ve only just begun to grow to our future potential. In Whitestown, there’s currently plenty of property for any size business to locate here, from small retail spaces to large plots of land where corporations can grow in our business parks,” she said. “There are also several new neighborhoods in the planning stages. And there are several lots available for new restaurants near our large, $50 million retail center called the Shoppes at Whitestown that will break ground next month.”

Whitestown is also planning to add several new parks and trails as the community grows to make sure it’s adding amenities for residents along with the new businesses.

“Diversity is always the best way to build any community,” Sumner said. “With a nice mix of retail, restaurants and professional services, Whitestown will continue to prosper and grow in a way that’s useful and exciting for its residents.”
