“I was feeling a little lost in life,” the 29-year-old Zionsville resident said. “I have a good job as a pharmacy technician at Riley Children’s Hospital, but don’t want to do that as my career. I went to nursing school and upon graduating, realized it was not my passion either. I wanted to find a career that I was passionate about and incorporated my interests.”

She found the strength and courage to pursue her professional passions after completing the Gallup Clifton StrengthFinders Program offered at The Cabin Counseling and Resource Center in Zionsville.

The center is a professional counseling and resource center offering assistance for individuals, couples and families. The mission of the center is to transform lives through compassionate and professional counseling and education. At the center, licensed therapists help clients to navigate life’s challenges.

The Strengthfinders program is designed to help people identify their talents, develop their strengths, enhance their professional performance and determine a career choice.

Dulin, 29, said the program helped her become more compassionate with co-workers, more aware of her professional tone and attitude and helped her find new ways to resolve conflict in the workplace. She said she felt empowered after each coaching session.

Dulin said the program helped her realize that wants to pursue a degree in forensic psychology. She said she never thought it would be possible to get a degree in that field, which combines two of her interests: crime and psychology. She recently applied for the forensic psychology program at two schools.

The sessions are led by Gallup Certified Strengths Coach Laurie Kirkpatrick. Dulin said Kirkpatrick helped her feel at ease about not knowing what she wanted to do while helping her discover her strengths and passions.

“I believe in myself more than ever,” Dulin said.
