After graduating from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Caroline Eaton moved to Chicago to pursue a career in sales but soon realized corporate life wasn’t for her. She returned to her hometown of Carmel four years ago to focus on her longtime passion for fitness and health coaching.

“After being immersed in the corporate environment, it was kind of a light,” she said. “That’s where I need to be. I need to be on the other side of this.”

While training clients at a Chicago gym and now remote health-coaching in Carmel, Eaton said many clients have expressed concerns about their health but are too overwhelmed with the demands and time commitment of dieting to finish a program. That inspired Eaton to develop One Year Fit, an online course focused on building habits that lead to a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

“With my program, I want people to understand why they’re making these healthy habit changes versus just making them because some diet is telling them to,” she said.

During the course of one year, participants receive a new topic and challenge via email every Sunday morning in preparation for the week. Topics include meal planning, eating apples, drinking more water and setting goals. At the end of the week, participants assess if they accomplished the goal and how the habit fit into their lifestyle.

“My hope is that you leave with maybe 20 new habits that work in your lifestyle, that make you feel good and maybe go back through the program and try a few of the weeks again,” Eaton said.

Those interested can start at any point during the year by purchasing the program online for $99. Participants will receive an email the following Sunday. For more, visit oneyear.fit.
