Although plans have been in the works for nearly five years, Women in Noblesville is looking to expand opportunities for its members.

This year, the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce committee wants to connect local business women to network and create friendships.

“What we are trying to do is provide opportunities for networking, partnership and ongoing education to empower local business women,” committee member Lisa Hudson said. “We are trying to build friendship and connections, share ideas and expertise. We also open up to anyone in Indianapolis and Hamilton County wanting to build connections.”

This year, WIN is offering some new programs to its members, such as Coffee and Connect, a networking event which meets every other month. It runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Smith House, 444 Lafayette Rd. Refreshments are provided, and the event is free. WIN alternates Coffee and Connect and a similar networking event, Dine and Develop, every other month.

The next Dine and Develop is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at Stone Creek Dining, 13904 Town Center Blvd. Attendees purchase their own dinner.

“We have a coordinator of the evening who has an activity at each table discussing professional development,” Hudson said. “They have dinner and learn something new.”

The events lead up to a conference May 16 at the Ivy Tech campus in Noblesville.

“That’s where we have a main-event speaker, lunch, networking workshops. That’s an annual event, and it was in the fall last year,” Hudson said. “We wanted to have more organic opportunities for women. We are definitely having a more focused approach this year with getting more people involved.”
