Community members will have a chance to learn what Janus Developmental Services offers and hear from clients firsthand during the 10th annual Create, Connect and Commit breakfast set from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. April 20 at 502 East Event Center, 502 E. Carmel Dr., Carmel.
Janus clients will share their stories and successes during the breakfast program. All four Hamilton County mayors will serve as honorary co-chairs and State Rep. Brooks will speak at the breakfast.
Doors open at 6:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. A donation will be requested near the end of the event. Funds raised go towards developing new programs and supporting existing ones at the facility, such as Out and About. The Out and About program provides clients with trips into the community to visit museums, art galleries and more, and it also provides transportation and staffing to various other organizations so clients have the opportunity to volunteer in the community.
The breakfast agenda changes each year as Janus adds new programs and clients, which it will then educate the community on.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn about the services Janus provides for adults with disabilities,” Janus Senior Vice President of Development Debbie Laird said. “The uplifting, one-hour program presents strong evidence that people with disabilities can and do participate and contribute in the community. This fundraising breakfast provides an opportunity to community members to be a vital part of our team and to make an impact on our clients by supporting our services.”
