Storms spark fire in Zionsville

The Zionsville Fire Dept. was dispatched just after 8:30 a.m. June 11 to a two-story home at 4130 Fieldmaster Dr. Smoke and flames were coming from the roof of the home after it was hit by a lightning strike following a line of storms that moved through Zionsville.

ZFD made an aggressive interior attempt extinguish the fire. Crews from the Whitestown Fire Dept. and Zionsville Police Dept. assisted ZFD in putting out the fire.  One resident was home at the time of the fire, but no injuries to the residents or to members of the crews were reported.
Crews successfully extinguished the fire, but significant damage was sustained to the home. Preliminary damage estimates for the home and its contents are as much as $50,000, according to fire department officials.
