“We’re just so excited she is coming,” said Liz Hamilton, CCPL foundation director. “I have heard she is an amazing speaker, so anytime we can bring an author of this caliber to our community to expose everyone to a New York Times best-selling author, we love to do it. This is obviously something our community loves and is hungry for, and we’re so happy we’re able to do that.”

Williams is a graduate of Stanford University with an MBA in finance from Columbia. She previously worked as a communications and corporate strategy consultant in New York and London before becoming a writer. Her writing is focused on historical fiction.

“When I am presented with authors I like to look at our collection and see how frequently the books of that author circulate in our community,” Hamilton said. “Her books are very well circulated. I thought our community would love having her here.”

The event will be held in the program room at 6:30 p.m. Williams will speak about her new release, “Summer Wives.” Barnes & Noble will have books for sale on-onsite. Guests will have the chance to ask Williams questions and have their books signed.

“We would love to have a full house for her,” Hamilton said. “We’ll be selling her books and then they can get theirs signed and then have a little bit of conversation with her.”

Guests should register in advance by emailing [email protected] or calling 317-814-3984.
