Cyclist killed in overnight accident on Ind. 37 in Noblesville

One man is dead after a car and bicycle accident at approximately 1:29 a.m. Aug. 28 at the intersection of Ind. 32 and 37.

Police say based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Ind. 32 when he was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Spark that was traveling northbound on Ind. 37. Police said information available to investigators at the scene suggests that the traffic signal for the driver was green at the time of the collision.

The bicyclist was identified as Christian S. Sheller, 47, Noblesville, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet Spark was identified as Donnis P. Snorton, 62, Indianapolis. He did not report any injuries, and there were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summoned to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, lanes of Ind. 32 and 37 were either closed or restricted until approximately 4:24 a.m.
