Despite rain delaying the Jog-a-Thon schedule by a few days, all Zionsville elementary schools, along with preschool students at other locations, raised funds in late September by running laps around their schools. Students had one hour to complete as many laps as they could around a quarter-mile course. They were encouraged to asked friends and family members to make a pledge based on the number of laps completed or pledge a flat fee. The annual event helps local Parent Teacher Organizations to pay for field trip transportation, classroom technology and other programs not funded by the school system.
