The Carmel Pups football team won the 2018 Indiana Elementary Football Association state championship Nov. 3, defeating the Northwest Caps 20-8. The Pups faced an undefeated Caps team that had outscored opponents 375-44 during the season. Middle linebacker Holden Mumau received the Terry Prather MVP Award after leading a defense that gave up zero points during the playoffs.
