I’ve heard that many people took the opportunity to vote early at the Carmel Clay Public Library, resulting in long lines. I also heard that many people were complaining and blaming the library for those long lines and difficulty in parking.
May I remind people that librarians are not responsible to run elections. They are not responsible to set up a queue or help manage the parking lot. The election board should have been better prepared and seen to the details for managing early voting.
Thank you to the library employees who went above and beyond their own work in order to facilitate the election. Next year, I hope the government entities responsible for elections will step up and do their job so the librarians don’t have to.
