The City of Westfield will add a new event for pet owners this spring. Egg-Paw-Looza will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon April 13 at Quaker Park, 17501 Dartown Rd. The event will consist of an egg hunt for dogs, a pet photo opportunity with a bunny mascot and a treat-decoration station, among other activities.

“It was just an idea that sounded fun. It just seemed like a fun event and nobody around here does anything like it,” Community Events Coordinator Alexa Lingg said. “It was just a fun, pet-related spring event. People can bring their pets out to kick off the season.”

The event is $5 per pet. Friendly dogs are welcome, although they must be on a leash. Retractable leashes are prohibited. There will be 12 golden eggs that can be redeemed for a prize basket.

When collecting eggs, the dog’s nose must touch the egg before the owner can place it in the basket. Eggs are filled with dog treats.
On-site registration will be available, but Lingg suggests pet owners register before the event, which will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds will benefit a local animal rescue.
