During the past three years, Village Dental at Saxony, 13390 Overview Dr., has provided more than $100,000 in free dental care to veterans and active duty servicemen and women for Veterans’ Dental Day. In celebration of the fourth annual Veterans’ Dental Day, Village Dental will provide free dental care Nov. 2 to at least 100 veterans from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s always been a goal of mine to give back to our servicemen, and I’m very thankful for everyone that serves our country,” Dr. Mike Talbott said. “We’ve done anywhere from just a cleaning all the way up to free dentures to implants to crowns to bridges. The whole gamut. It’s really just a fun day because it’s a way to give back.”

With the recent opening of the new facility, Village Dental will offer its largest-ever support of free dental care to veterans. Free dental care is beneficial to many veterans because they either do not have insurance or are nervous about seeing a dentist.

“We want to show our appreciation for our servicemen and women,” Talbott said. “That’s always been my passion and my goal. It’s really just to give back to our community. I thought about joining the military while I was in dental school because I wanted to give back to my country. Unfortunately, I didn’t pursue that and that’s one of my biggest regrets. I figured at least if I can give my talents back to people in need, I’d do that as much as possible. That’s what inspires me and drives me.”

Village Dental encourages veterans and active duty personnel to make an appointment at 317-565-4249, but walk-ins will be accepted.
