“Doug and Woody are both legends in gospel music and both from central Indiana,” Howell said. “They both are incredible singers, but also really love the great songs of gospel music. To be able to share the stage with these two singing the great songs is something I am excited to share with the audience.”

Howell said he has performed with Wright a few different times.

“Woody is an incredible communicator and really knows how to connect with an audience,” he said. “It is a blast to share the stage with him.”

Howell said most gospel concerts feature artists who are sharing their latest releases and new projects or trying to gain new fans.

“This concert is strictly about having a fun night singing our favorite songs with two singers that have been such a significant part of gospel music,” he said. “Stories will be shared and attendees will get to be a part of enjoying songs that defined who we are as singers. We all have sung at this church a few times over the years. Anderson is a hotbed for gospel music in Indiana, so this was a perfect setting for this type of concert.

“Given that we are in Bill and Gloria Gaither country (from nearby Alexandria), we always love to sing a few of their huge hits like ‘Because He Lives’ and ‘He Touched Me.’ These songs are probably some of the biggest hymns ever recorded, and they were written by Hoosiers. I am also a classic quartet song fan, so we will break out a few Oak Ridge Boys tunes as well.”

Josh Ranke and Leigh Murray, a piano player from Fortville, will join the concert.

A $10 donation is suggested for admission.
