Westfield High School Student Government is conducting its annual Cookies with Santa for the community.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 at the WHS cafeteria, 18250 N. Union St.

Senior Benjamín Rascón Gracia, student government vice president of communications, has been on student government and participated in Cookies with Santa for four years.

We try to make (the event) better every year,” Rascón Gracia said. “The goal is to make sure as many kids have fun as possible. It’s a form of service we high schoolers do to entertain the younger kids in the community.

Cookies with Santa is in its fifth year. It will have a number of holiday-related crafts, several varieties of cookies, goodie bags and a photobooth for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a bounce house and llamas.

Decorating (the event) puts everyone in the Christmas spirit,” Rascón Gracia said.

Toy donations also will be accepted at the event, which is sponsored by teachers Marci Caulfeild and Sarah Scheidler.
