The Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation is searching for alumni ambassadors who can promote the new Tigers Royals Alumni Network, which launched this summer.

The Tigers Royals Alumni Network is the foundation’s most recent attempt to establish an alumni association. The network shares news from the City of Fishers and its 22 schools with alumni; offers networking and mentoring opportunities; and provides access to the TMap talent database.

TMap uses targeted marketing to identify potential recruits for various companies. The tech startup has partnered with HSSF to offer a “refer a friend” option, where local residents can provide TMap with contact information for an individual the nominator would like to return to Fishers. TMap does the recruiting work.

Justin Hirnisey, executive director of HSSF, said the goal of the network is to provide value to alumni and connect the community.

“We think there’s this really interesting cross-section of, if we continue to do a good job of educating our alums about all the cool stuff the schools are doing after they leave, and if there are some opportunities for them to come back to do an internship or come back to look at a job opportunity if they move out of the area, we think those are a couple things where we can help connect those dots a little bit and ultimately try to continue to keep the community really vibrant,” Hirnisey said.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools Supt. Allen Bourff announced the network at both commencement ceremonies in June. Since then, Hirnisey said more than 800 alumni have joined the free group.

Hirnisey said the next step is to assemble up to 50 ambassadors, who must be district alumni, to serve as a steering committee to take the network to the next level.

“We want to shoot for a weekend in the future where we can encourage alumni to come back and see what the city is like now, experience some of the new things going on and ultimately have some opportunities to connect with a diverse group of alumni from both high schools,” he said.

Alumni also will receive discounted admission to the foundation’s largest fundraiser, Game Day, which will take place in February at Conner Prairie.
