Column: Deck the halls with a bathroom remodel

2019 has been an incredible year for many small businesses in American. Myself, and our brilliant constituents in the Indiana Design Center (open to the public), are thrilled to be participating in the continued robust economy and are grateful for our thoughtful and happy clients. As creatives and business owners, this year has been especially compelling with updated material palettes and the widespread realization that renovated living spaces can dramatically impact how we live and bring joy.

Tired muscles and achy joints?

Perhaps this thrilled Carmel family will agree with that sentiment. Refreshed master bathrooms fill us with a sense of welcome luxury in our morning routines, or offer a place of respite as we soak away the day’s tarnish. Tired muscles and achy joints melt in soak tubs with powerful jets or expanded showers geared with rain garden shower heads.

Their previously cramped bathroom had a single sink, exposed toilet area and undersized shower — all areas of hoped-for change that we were able to modify.

Materials matter

Ferguson supplied all the stunning Moen fixtures in the substantially enlarged shower, along with the sparkling towel bars, sink faucets and Kohler toilet privately tucked away. We dig the shower walls alternating biscuit gloss/matte 4 by 12-inch subway tile, stylishly contrasted against the earth-tone patterns and Cambria in the shower niches.

Cambria counters married with a Yorktowne vanity nicely warms the room. And, as a testament to the “color is back” mantra, Sherman Williams eggshell blue offers a happy burst of energy to the space.

May this season of joy and gratitude slow us down for a few moments (note to self) to appreciate the abundance and blessings we are surrounded by. However you and yours celebrate the holidays, make it a wonderful and merry Christmas!
