Council approves Links PUD, hears Portillo’s introduction

The Westfield City Council unanimously approved the Links planned unit development and heard an introduction for a proposed Portillo’s restaurant, among other agenda items, at its Feb. 10 meeting. For more, visit westfield.in.gov.

What happened: The council unanimously approved the Links PUD.

What it means: The project is proposed for 68 acres east and west of Tomlinson Road, between 186th and 191st streets. It includes uses such as an entertainment center and observatory.

What happened: The council heard an introduction for Portillo’s, a Chicago-based chain restaurant for hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches and other fare.

What it means: The proposal is an amendment to the Wheeler Landing PUD district at the northwest quadrant of Ind. 32 and Wheeler Road. The proposal modifies the State Road 32 Overlay District to allow for a Portillo’s to be built. A public hearing is scheduled for the March 2 Advisory Plan Commission meeting.

 

What happened: The council unanimously approved an amendment to the Davis PUD.

What it means: The proposal modifies architectural standards and adds additional character exhibits to the Davis PUD district, which is west of Ditch Road between 151st and 161st streets.

 

What happened: A public hearing was held for Phase 14 of annexation for the Chatham Hills subdivision.

What it means: The annexation encompasses 6 acres on the northwest quadrant of the Monon Trail and 199th Street. It’s the 14th phase, with future phases to come. No one spoke during the hearing.

 

What happened: A public hearing was held for the first phase of annexation for the Atwater subdivision.

What it means: The annexation encompasses 10 acres north of 193rd Street at the Casey Road intersection. Another phase is expected in the future. No one spoke during the hearing.

 

What happened: A public hearing was held on Phase 4 of annexation for the Osborne Trails subdivision.

What it means: The annexation encompasses 58 acres on the northeast quadrant of Six Points Road and 193rd Street. No one spoke during the hearing.

 

What happened: A public hearing was held on the annexation for the Lancaster subdivision.

What it means: The annexation encompasses 45 acres on the northwest quadrant of 186th Street and Springmill Road. No one spoke at the public hearing.

 

What happened: The council heard an introduction for an amendment to the NorthPointe PUD.

What it means: The amendment incorporates an updated site and landscape plan for the Gordon Food Service distribution center on 82 acres at the northwest quadrant of Grassy Branch Road and 196th Street. It also will allow for a pump and water storage tank to be built as part of a fire suppression system.
