Carmel awards $1.2M in arts grants to 28 organizations

The City of Carmel has awarded 28 local arts organizations with nearly $1.2 million in grants to date from the city’s 2020 Arts Grant Program. This year marks the 17th anniversary of the City of Carmel’s financial support for local arts, which amounts to roughly 1 percent of the city budget each year. Since 2004, more than $13.5 million has been allocated to support local arts programs.

The 2020 recipients to date are:

  • Carmel Apprentice Theater, LLC (The CAT, $90,000
  • Carmel Arts Council, $3,000
  • Carmel Clay Historical Society, $4,250
  • Carmel Community Players, Inc., $15,000
  • Carmel Fountain Square Committee, $12,000
  • Carmel High School Orchestra Parents Club, $3,500
  • Carmel Klavier, Inc., $26,000
  • Carmel Repertory Theatre, Inc., $5,000
  • Carmel Symphony Orchestra, $275,000
  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, $15,000
  • CYT (Christian Youth Theater), $2,500
  • Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, $80,000
  • Indiana Artisan, Inc., $40,000
