The Lebanon Community School Corp. will close its schools starting at 6 p.m. tonight, and the schools will remain closed to students at least until April 6, the school system announced today.

The move comes in response to the spread of the new coronavirus.

Beginning Monday and continuing through March 27, the district will utilize eLearning days, according to a news release. LCSC will be closed for spring break from March 30 to April 3, and the school system anticipates returning to standard operations on April 6, according to the release.

As of now, one Boone County resident has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease stemming from the new virus. Indiana has reported 12 presumptive positive cases of the disease as of this time.

More updates will be made available as they happen.
