Snapshot: First-of-its-kind women’s history library opens downtown

On March 6, a small event made a big impact with its grand opening. Housed in a room in the upstairs of the Stephenson House on the Nickel Plate Arts campus on South Eighth Street, a public library dedicated to women’s history opened. The Gal’s Guide to the Galaxy Library and Research Center, founders of the library, say it’s the first women’s history library in the nation that’s open to the public and allows books to be checked out.
