The Fishers Police Dept. is investigating the deaths of two adults at the Britton Woods Apartment Complex.

FPD officers were called to conduct a welfare check on an individual in the 13900 block of Ashlake Lane near the intersection of Ind. 37 and 141st Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. March 23. As officers approached the apartment building, a suspect shot at them from a second-floor apartment. Officers took cover and secured the area.

According to a press release from FPD, attempts to establish communication with the suspect were unsuccessful. Emergency Response Team members made entry to the apartment. Once inside, officers located an adult female, 34, and an adult male, 48, both suffering injuries believed to be from a firearm. Both the male and female succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Based on the investigation, the deceased knew each other. There is no threat to the community and the officers are not searching for more suspects.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Robbie Ruble at 317-595-3319.
