In 2009, the City of Noblesville’s bond rating was upgraded to AA- by Standard and Poor’s (S&P) Ratings Services and the city has recently received notice that this rating has been maintained.   S&P is an independent financial services company that assigns credit ratings for the debt of public and private corporations.  Noblesville’s AA- rating is an indication of the city’s fiscal stability.

S&P evaluated a variety of factors in order to determine the City of Noblesville’s rating.  The higher the rating, the lower the interest rate becomes on city debt.  Two factors cited by S&P in supporting the City of Noblesville’s high rating were the city’s “strong income levels” and “extremely strong wealth levels” as well as the city’s “good financial management practices.”

“We are pleased to continue this excellent rating from S&P, especially during these difficult economic times.  Our duty to the citizens of Noblesville is to provide strong fiscal responsibility and this rating illustrates our success in providing just that,” said Mayor John Ditslear.
