Poll restored by ‘popular demand’

Our online poll, which typically runs for one week on this page, was replaced late Thursday afternoon by a question about Tim Green’s ascent to police chief in the wake of Chief Mike Fogarty’s retirement announcement. The previous poll, regarding the Carmel City Council’s decision to eliminate much of the funding for communications in the 2011 budget, is back up and ready for new voters.

Current in Carmel was flooded with requests to restore it, and so we have done just that. In fairness, there is a change in wording, however, to reflect the council’s decision to not entirely cut every cent of funding; the city’s cable channel retains approximately one-quarter of its former $100,000 budget. Therefore, the revised question has become: Are you concerned about the City Council’s decision to cut most of the funding for the city’s TV programming, newsletter and Web site for 2011?

This isn’t Chicago, folks; one vote to a customer.
