A Cut-A-Thon to benefit the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be held on April 9, 2011, from 10 am to 3 pm at Avail Salon, located inside Sola Salon, studio 26, 726 Adams St. just off West Carmel Drive near Payless Liquors. Services to be offered will include dry cuts for $15, shampoo and cut no style for $20, shampoo, cut and style $35 and brow waxing for $7. All proceeds will go to the Race for the Cure 2011. As an added bonus Sweet and Savory will provide cookies

McCall has agreed to donate her time and skills to assist one of her customers, Rhonda Kile, in her effort to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. “We could call this the Cut and Run a thon,” Kile laughed. “Cortne will cut on April 9th and I will run on April 16th! I will also be there on Saturday to assist Cortne, sweeping up hair, passing out cookies and drinks, and collecting donations. What a deal this is! The prices are outstanding and all of the money goes to a great cause.”
“I cannot thank Cortne enough for taking time away from her busy schedule to help,” stated Kile. “I got involved with the Race for The Cure after my own battle with breast cancer in 2009. I am one of the lucky ones. My cancer was discovered in a routine Mamogram. As a result I can say I am cancer free!” I cannot stress enough the importance of early detection. I also cannot forget all of the women, and men, who have lost their battle as well as those who are still fighting for their lives. I will run the Race for The Cure in their honor. Last year I raised $1100. This year I pledged to raise $2,000. With Cortne’s help and the help of everyone who donates I know this goal can be met!”
