A small aircraft crash on the Harbour Trees Golf Course in the subdivision of North Harbour claimed the lives of two 21-year-old men Thursday evening.

At approximately 5:06 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders from the Noblesville Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Roxbury Lane and Oxford Drive in Noblesville in reference to a 911 call of an aircraft accident. NPD Spokesman Lt. Bruce Barnes said responders arrived on the scene a short time later and located the aircraft crash scene. The crash scene was confined to a relatively small area just off the putting green of the third hole of the Harbour Trees Golf Course.

“The first responders on the scene were able to immediately determine that the crash had claimed the lives of the two occupants who were aboard the aircraft,” said Barnes. “The scene was then secured and the investigation commenced.”

The victims in the fatal aircraft crash have been identified as Joshua D. Deboer, 21, of Chicago Heights, Ill. who was piloting the plane and passenger Joseph Neuzerling, 21, of Noblesville.

Barnes said witnesses on the ground stated that they had observed the aircraft flying around in circles at a low altitude just prior to the crash. The aircraft has been identified as a REMOS GX.

Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board and Indiana State Police were notified. Barnes said investigators from the FAA arrived on the scene at approximately 8:30 p.m. and began their initial investigation. The crash scene was secured overnight by the Noblesville Police Department and investigators resumed their investigations this morning. Officials from the NTSB are expected to be on the scene this morning to begin their investigation.
