Carmel Symphony Orchestra invites area youth to compete for a performance in the Palladium

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra announces its 31st Annual Young Artists Competition, sponsored by Meridian Music. The winner will be featured at the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s April 29, 2012 “Family Fun!” performance in the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts.

The winner will receive a $1,000 cash award provided by Meridian Music. The first runner-up will receive $500 and second runner-up will receive $250, courtesy of the CSO League.

The Carmel Symphony’s Young Artist Competition provides exceptional competition for young musicians from Central Indiana to perform at the highest level of technical excellence with their peers.

Eligibility requirements include students up to and including grade 12. The participant must be a resident of one of the following counties: Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Shelby or Tipton.

Entry forms with further information and requirements are available at Meridian Music, 12725 Old Meridian St., Carmel, the Carmel-Clay Public Library, 55 Fourth Ave. SE, across from Carmel High School or via the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s website at CarmelSymphony.org. Completed materials must be postmarked by Nov. 1.
