St. Vincent Sports Medicine named official partner of USA Football

USA Football, the sport’s national governing body in the United States, announced today that St.Vincent Sports Performance (SVSP) has been named the official performance medicine partner of USA Football and its U.S. NationalTeam program. Both organizations are based in Indianapolis.

The multi-year partnership marks St.Vincent Sports Performance’s most significant foray into America’s grassroots football community. SVSP athletic trainers will serve U.S. National Teams as well asathletes at USA Football player development events conducted nationwide. SVSP will lead medical management at all USA Football events domestically and will provide an accomplished network of sports medicine physicians and athletic trainers for U.S. National Teams competing outside of the United States. SVSP also will provide usafootball.com with informative and timely content to benefit player health and performance.

USA Football joins the likes of several other National Governing Bodies who partner with SVSP as their official performance medicine provider, including USA Gymnastics, USA Track & Field, USA Diving, and USA Synchro.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership with USA Football,” said St.Vincent Sports Performance Executive Director, Ralph Reiff. “It is our daily goal to define sports performance, and the role they play in thenation’s youth development of the sport has many parallels. USA Football’s national teams compete within six international divisions of play: Under-15, Under-19, Men’s, Men’s Flag, Women’s and Women’s Flag. Sixty-two (62) countries spanning six continents possess national federations of sport dedicated solely to football.

In addition to managing America’s national teams, USA Football teaches the game’s fundamentals and inherent values through innovative online skill development resources and its 80 annual football training events across the United States for coaches, gameofficials, league commissioners and youth players.

USA Football is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams. NFL FLAG powered by USA Football is the country’s premiere flag football program with more than 169,000 players across the country. Approximately 3 million American kids age 6-14 play organized tackle football, placing it among the country’s most popular youth sports.

U.S. National Team alumni include LSU safety Tyrann Mathieu (2010), Michigan State linebacker ChrisNorman (2009) and Virginia Tech running back David Wilson (2009).
