Pedestrian struck on Interstate 69

On February 1, 2012 at approximately 2:20pm The Hamilton County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a motorist on Interstate 69. The caller reported that a pedestrian had been struck near the 9 mile marker.

Fishers police officers arrived and found a deceased female laying in the ditch. Witnesses told police that the female ran in front of a semi-tractor trailer. The semi struck the female and she fell into the ditch. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The Fishers Police Department Crash Team responded and conducted an investigation. At this time it is unclear what caused the female to run into traffic.

Prior to the crash the Dispatch Center received several calls of a female running in front of vehicles. The crash is still under investigation.
