Time Zone resolution to be heard by House Roads and Transportation Committee tomorrow

House Concurrent Resolution 006 (HCR 6) – that calls for uniting all of Indiana in the Central Time Zone – will be heard by the House Roads and Transportation Committee, tomorrow, February 22 when it convenes at the State House.

HCR 6 is considered a correction of wording for Senate Bill 127 that was passed in 2005.  The bill urged Governor Daniels to petition USDOT to hold hearings throughout Indiana to determine where the Eastern/Central time zone boundary should be located.  USDOT denied Governor Daniels’ request saying that SB127 had not specified where the time zone boundary should be located.

HCR 6 is sponsored by Representatives Jeff Thompson and Dale Grubb.
