Theft from Carmel City Court

On April 11, 2012, the Carmel City Court reported the theft of a handheld metal detector.  The theft occurred on April 9, 2012 at approximately 12:30 PM.  The Carmel Police Department took a report and is investigating the incident.

Surveillance video shows a white male with two crutches walk up to the ticket window at Carmel City Court and talk to an attendant.  The suspect is handed a piece of paper and then walks over to the desk where the metal detector is located.  He grabs the metal detector and stuffs it underneath his shirt.  The suspect exits the building and gets into the rear passenger side seat of a light blue four door Oldsmobile.  A white female exits the City Building and drives away in the blue Oldsmobile.

There was no information at the City Court on the suspect’s name.  The suspect was walking with the aid of two wrist height crutches, and had a shoe riser on his left foot.  The suspect had on a small leather type hat and a light weight jacket.
