The Hamilton County Leadership Academy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and inspiring leadership to create a positive impact in our community, graduated its 21st class on June 7.

“We congratulate them on a job well done and wish them well in their efforts to serve the community,” said Carrie Cason, board president of the HCLA.
As a part of their graduation requirements, students worked as a team to complete a community project. These projects were self-selected by the group or chosen from requests sent to HCLA by local not-for-profit organizations. The following projects were completed by this year’s class: Hamilton County Community Gardens, Habitat for Humanity ReStore Project, Mass Transit, Midwest Academy, Redistricting Guide, and Promising Futures Pregnant & Parenting Teen Program.
The HCLA is accepting applications for the 2012-13 class. The 10-month academy will begin in September and run through June 2013. Applications are due June 30 and can be found online at www.hcla.net or by contacting Jill Doyle at [email protected] or 379-1879.
The program is available to Hamilton County residents or those with business or civic activities within the community. It is a selective program, and the selection criteria are based on leadership capability, an interest in community affairs, an ability to commit to an intensive program and a desire for increased personal community service. Program participants are brought together by their commitment of time, energy and expertise and their desire to be involved in Hamilton County.
