Westfield looks for input from residents regarding infrastructure improvements

Today, the City of Westfield is beginning to gather input from residents on how funds from the proposed utility transfer to Citizens Energy Group could be directed to infrastructure improvements throughout the City.

A survey has been posted on the City’s Facebook page as well as the City’s website.  Signs, reminding residents to vote, are posted at the potential development sites, which include:

“All of these projects are important to the City, and with the potential proceeds of the utility transfer, we will have the opportunity to accelerate our timeline,” said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. “We want to hear from residents on what their priorities are – where should we start?”

Of the funds received from the potential transfer, nearly half will be earmarked for infrastructure improvements throughout the city.

In addition to the residential survey on Facebook, the City has arranged four town meetings in order to inform the public about the potential transfer. The public meetings are designed as an open forum where citizens can receive more information on the infrastructure improvements mentioned in the survey as well as ask questions regarding the transfer.

Public meetings are scheduled as follows:
