Emily Hart of Fort Wayne was named Miss Indiana USA 2013, and Darrian Arch of Chesterton was named Miss Indiana Teen USA 2013 on Oct. 14 at the Renaissance North Hotel in Carmel, at the conclusion of a two-day pageant. Arch and Hart will respectively represent Indiana in the 2013 Miss Teen USA and Miss USA 2013 pageants, the latter of which will be televised by the NBC television network.
Hart, a graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, plans to use her Bachelor degree of Interior Design to open one of the most successful wineries in Indiana. She also serves on a nonprofit organization, “Our Turn to Serve,” which assists disabled veterans by accommodating their homes to their specific disabilities.
Arch is a 17 year-old senior student at Chesterton High School, and hopes to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University. Her career goal includes becoming a Surgical Physician Assistant.
Behind Hart, the remainder of the “Top 5” included First Runner-up Morgan Abel of North Vernon, Second Runner-up Nicole Pollard of Indianapolis, Third Runner-up Destiny Dever of English and Fourth Runner-up Rohma Siddiqui of Fort Wayne. The Semi-finalists were Mekayla Diehl of Bristol, Andrea Beaver of Nobelsville, Ami Kirollos of Bloomington, Sylvia Crowder of Cayuga and Emily Ball of Indianapolis. Destiny Dever was named Miss Photogenic and Kayla Blondin of Evansville was voted Miss Congeniality.
Arch bested First Runner-up Madison Boldry of Kokomo, Second Runner-up Zoe Parker of Fort Wayne, Third Runner-up Mariah Scott of Dupont and Fourth Runner-up Toree Brown of Garrett. The Semi-finalists were Ashley Lutes of Nashville, Amelia Henderson of Atlanta, Haley Coffey of Waldron, Toni Pringley of Bloomington, and Kailey Harmon of Zionsville. Mariah Scott was named Miss Photogenic and Khyla Shepherd of Indianapolis was voted Miss Congeniality.
