My Party Indy partners with local businesses to help Wheeler Mission

Fishers residents Renee Ahearn and Jennifer Payne teamed up to create an online party resource site.

Now they’ve teamed up with local businesses to help children at the Wheeler Mission Center for Women and Children with their new Holiday Hands of Hope campaign.

The campaign started on Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 10. The goal is to collect toys and books for kids.

Payne said Wheeler takes care of kids from all ages, infant to 17, and the need is there all year round. Nothing will go to waste.

“We wanted to do something to give back to the community,” Payne said.

In addition, Sky Zone plans to give a free 30-minute jump pass to those who donate a new toy or book to the cause on Dec. 1.

Payne is hoping that at least 100 gifts will get collected.

“I’m hoping to blow the door off that number,” she said.

To raise awareness for Holiday Hands of Hope, My Indy Party worked with Drawpartner Graphics in Fishers to put together a coloring contest for kids, illustrating the event’s goal:  helping children.

Payne said local businesses were receptive to lending their help, for the most part.

She said employees of businesses – as well as her and Ahearn’s kids – are excited about the program.
