An Anderson woman was killed after two cars collided at the intersection of Olio Road and 146th Street in Noblesville around 10:43 a.m. on Dec. 17.
Sally Tharp, 69, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital in Fishers were she was taken after the accident. Another person, Mark Melvin, 57, of Arcadia, a passenger in the other vehicle involved, was sent to St. Vincent Medical Center Northeast Hospital in Fishers with non-life threatening injuries.
Noblesville Police Spokesman Lt. Bruce Barnes said a 1998 Ford Expedition driven by Micah Stafford, 25, of Elwood, crashed into the 2006 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Tharp.
“Evidence suggests that Stafford was traveling southbound on Olio Road and (Tharp) was traveling eastbound on 146th Street before the collision,” Barnes said, adding that accident reconstructionists from the Noblesville Police Dept. would be working to determine the cause of the crash.
