I believe that we have the best police department in the country. I have been bringing in the mail and newspaper for my neighbor and business partner over the last week. He was to get back home late last night as he had numerous flight delays. My wife and I decided we would drop off a meal that he could warm up when he got home. When we got inside the home sometime after 8 p.m., I noticed the front door was open. The door was closed when I came by around noon that day. I decided that I should call the police department. As I was apologetically telling the dispatcher what was happening, she reassured me that calling them was the right thing to do. Very quickly, three Carmel Police officers were at the house. They too reiterated that calling the police was the right thing to do. They completed a thorough search of the house and found nothing. The speedy response we received, the professional manner in which they conducted themselves and the time they spent with us proved to us once again how truly blessed we are in Carmel to have such a top notch police department. Thank you to the three officers that helped us last night and to all the public safety professionals here in Carmel!
