Zion Nature Center’s March schedule now available

MARCH 2 NatureFest

Saturday  1:30-4:30 p.m.

(All Ages) Join friends and support the Zion Nature Center at the 3nd annual Friends of Zion Nature Center NatureFest.   Activities include a petting zoo, face painting, cake walk, classic carnival games, prizes, and more!  NatureFest will take place in the community room at the Zionsville Town Hall located at 1100 W. Oak St.  Cost: $3/person or $10/family (free-age 2 & under), activity tickets 50 cents or 12/$5.  More information can be found at www.ZionNatureCenterFriends.org.

 

MARCH 3 NATURE CAMP REGISTRATION

Sunday  12-5 p.m.

“Nature Navigators” camp is for children entering grades K-2.   Campers can attend either a morning (9-noon) or afternoon (1-4 p.m.) session during the weeks of June 3-7 or July 8-12.  The fee is $85/child, and registration must be completed in person at the Zion Nature Center.  Open enrollment will be limited after priority registration for previous campers and will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.

 

MARCH 8 ANIMAL ADVENTURES: SALAMANDERS

Friday 10-11 a.m.

(Ages 3-6) Meet at the library for a fictional story then walk to the Zion Nature Center to learn some facts & see real salamanders that live at the center.  Free.  Dress appropriately for the weather.  Weekday parking is not allowed at the nature center.  Register at 873-3149 ext. 11600 or www.zionsville.lib.in.us.

MARCH 21 THE GOOD, BAD, AND UGLY OF INDIANA WILDFLOWERS

Thursday   6:30 p.m.

(Adults) Get ready for the late March, early April show of Indiana wildflowers by attending a fun program given by Myrene Brown.  The program is perfectly timed to add to your knowledge of Indiana wildflowers before you hike through Indiana woodlands in search of our beautiful Wildflowers.  Registration is required at www.ZionNatureCenterFriend.org

 

MARCH 23 OWLS OF INDIANA

Saturday   11 a.m.

(Ages 5 & up) Owls are magnificent and highly specialized birds at the top of their food chains.  Come learn about Indiana’s owls and what makes these birds of prey both masters of flight and supreme hunters.  Program is free.  Dissect an owl pellet for $3. Registration is required at www.ZionNatureCenterFriends.org

 

MARCH 16,17,23,24 EASTER EGGS GOURDS

Saturdays  10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sundays   noon-5 p.m.

(Ages 5-Adult) Decorate natural and beautiful Easter eggs using gourds.  These home-grown gourds are the perfect shape and size and will last for years to come. Stop by the Zion Nature Center for this drop-in program.  The cost is $2 and all supplies are included. More information can be found at www.ZionNatureCenterFriends.org
