Parks department plans six bus trips

The Noblesville Parks Dept. has planned six trips this year to visit several popular destinations in Indiana and beyond. Reserve your spot early and join the fun on the following trips:

* March 29: French Lick Winery & Casino: Join the parks department on this trip to French Lick, Indiana. The trip will include a tasting at the French Lick Winery as well as free time to spend shopping or at the casino. Cost is $46 per person. Departure: 9 a.m. Return: 10 p.m.

* May 21: Spring trip to the Shipshewana Flea Market: Put on your walking shoes and get ready to search for great bargains at the Shipshewana Flea Market. Cost is $42 per person. Departure: 7:30 a.m. Return: 8 p.m.

* July 5: Summer in Chicago: Enjoy plenty of summer fun in downtown Chicago. The bus will drop off in the area by Shedd Aquarium. Cost is $50 per person. Departure: 7 a.m. Return: 9 p.m.

* Sept. 17: Autumn Trip to the Shipshewana Flea Market: Get your Christmas shopping done early this year. Join the fun at the Shipshewana Flea Market and find great bargains for the holidays. Cost is $42 per person. Departure: 7:30 a.m. Return: 8 p.m.

* Oct. 23: Brown County Shopping: Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage as you shop the quaint shops in downtown Nashville, Ind. Cost is $38 per person. Departure: 8:30 a.m. Return: 6 p.m.

* Dec. 7: Christmas Shopping in Chicago: This trip is always sold out, so mark your calendar now. Cost is $50 per person and registrations will be accepted beginning on Sept. 3. Departure: 7 a.m. Return: 10 p.m.

All trips depart and return to Forest Park Inn. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registrations are now being accepted for all trips except for the December Chicago shopping trip. Pre-registration is required and recommended no later than two weeks before the trip as long as seats are still available.

If the parks department does not have the required number of participants for a trip by the deadline, the trip will be cancelled and fees will be refunded.
