NextGear Capital has stepped in to fill the funding gap for the construction of Chaucie’s Place’s proposed training room. As the demand for Chaucie’s Place’s prevention programs has increased, the organization’s strategic planning called for converting the facility’s garage into a training room to provide more prevention and education programs.
In April, NextGear Capital employees began the process of making the training room a reality by purchasing a storage barn and constructing it for the organization. The storage barn is used to store items that were previously stored in the garage. NextGear Capital also entered Chaucie’s Place in the Companies with a Mission Indiana Service Challenge, a program established to provide grant funds to worthy causes throughout the state. Chaucie’s Place’s renovation was granted $5,000 from CWAM – one of 38 nonprofits to receive grants between $1,000 and $15,000.
“We see the mission of Chaucie’s Place as a very important and special one,” stated Brian Geitner, NextGear Capital’s president. “Children are our future, and we have a tremendous need for the unique services Chaucie’s Place offers to our community.”
Toby Stark, Chaucie’s Place executive director, said a number of other companies also have committed to the project, offering their services with electrical work, painting and even donating classroom furniture. Even so, the organization realized a substantial shortfall to complete the much-needed training room. NextGear Capital made the commitment to provide the remaining $16,000 needed to complete the project.
“The simple fact is we cannot do the work we do without community partners like NextGear Capital. The totality of their support – from donating office supplies so more money can go into our programs to funding this training room – shows their unparalleled commitment to protecting the children of our community,” Stark stated. “This training room will now allow us to reach even more community members with our child sexual abuse prevention programs.”
Chaucie’s Place is a nonprofit child advocacy organization that focuses on the prevention of child sexual abuse and youth suicide with prevention programs for children and adults.
