Officers stopped Irsay’s car at 11:41 p.m. March 16th in the 13000 block of Horseferry Road in the Village of West Clay. Officers said he was driving at a slow rate of speed, stopping in the roadway and failed to signal a turn, a Carmel police news release said.

During the course of the investigation, Irsay failed several roadside field sobriety tests and was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated, the release said.
Police also charged Irsay with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance because when they searched Irsay’s vehicle, multiple prescription drugs were discovered in pill bottles. The Schedule IV prescription drugs were not associated with any prescription bottles found in the vehicle, the release said.

Irsay is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $22,500 bond. He is expected to be released the afternoon of March 17.
