By the time Carmel emergency responders arrived on the scene, Michael Davis, 59, of Noblesville was in cardiac arrest.

Emergency medical technicians with the Carmel Fire Department transported Davis to St.Vincent Hospital at 86th Street in Indianapolis, but he was pronounced dead later that evening.

“We can confirm there was a fatal injury in Hamilton County yesterday (Mar. 25), and we are conducting an investigation on this incident,” Duke Energy said in a prepared statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with this employee’s family, friends and co-workers at this time.”

Davis had been with Duke Energy for 37 years, where he was a substation maintenance supervisor, according to his family.

Duke Energy said it is still investigating the incident.
