Why did you become a teacher? As a student, I was blessed to be inspired by so many different educators that truly made an incredible impact on my life. Special education has been my area of interest because I see so many possibilities in these children and desire for them to be the very best that they can be in life.

What goals do you have for your students? I want my students to love learning and desire to achieve. Kids need to believe in themselves and realize the potential that lies within them.

What do you encourage parents to do at home to help their children strengthen particular skills? Love on your kids and encourage them. Laugh hysterically and play with your children. Support your teachers and stay involved in the learning process.

What is your favorite movie? “The Blindside”

Who is your favorite musician or band? Jimmy Needham, Big Daddy Weave, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, Jamie Grace, Matt Redman, Tenth Avenue North … I love music!

What’s something your students might not know about you? I was raised on a dairy farm and milked cows as a child.
