Noblesville Parks and Recreation will kick off its 2014 summer concert season on May 29. For nine Thursdays this summer, a variety of genres will be performed live for free at two Noblesville parks.
“It’s the largest concert series running in Hamilton County and caters to all families,” Assistant Parks Director Mike Hoffmeister said.
Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and last two hours with entertainment by popular local and regional artists.
“We have a pretty strong lineup with lots of returning bands,” Hoffmeister said. “The Bishops will play the Noblesville Street Dance, Dave and Rae is a big one. People are happy that Paul Butler is returning as Elvis.”
Hoffmeister said food trucks and vendors will be available at the shows and residents are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, food and drinks to the show. The annual series brings in more than 6,000 residents from Noblesville, Hamilton County and surrounding communities.
“It’s one of our most popular events. It’s about fun, food and festivities,” he said.
The series opens at Dillon Park, which has a large open area and sees more attendees from Carmel and Westfield. When the summer heats up, the concerts move to Forest Park’s nature setting.
“Forest Park’s concert area is a little smaller in size. It’s more quaint and provides more shade,” Hoffmeister said.
The concert series presenting sponsor is Ivy Tech Community College and the gold sponsor is Ratio Landscape Architecture. For more information, visit www.noblesvilleparks.org.
