A two-vehicle crash on June 25 at Ind. 32 and Prairie Baptist Road left one passenger seriously injured.

Hamilton County deputies were dispatched to the location at approximately 8:19 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a white Town and Country van driven by Heather Morris of Lapel and a cream Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old juvenile involved in a crash. Deputy Bryant Orem said the initial investigation of the crash scene indicated the juvenile driver was northbound on Prairie Baptist Road and disregarded the stop sign causing the Accord to strike the van.

Orem said a juvenile passenger in the Accord was transported to the hospital with a possible neck fracture and Morris was treated for minor injuries. The juvenile driver was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Services Center and preliminarily charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. Orem said the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is examining the incident.
