Fishers Police Dept. Arrests Four Suspects for Thefts from Vehicles

0

During the early morning hours of Sunday, September 28th Fishers police officers arrested two separate groups of thieves suspected of stealing property from unlocked vehicles.

Just after 3:30am an alert resident, of the Deer Brook Apartment complex (Allisonville Road and Eller Road), called 911 to report he had observed several subjects stealing items from cars parked in the apartment complex. As the first officer arrived he observed several suspects running away. After a short foot pursuit one of the suspects was taken into custody. Assisting officers set a perimeter and began searching for the additional suspects. A second suspect was located in the Princeton Park Neighborhood (106th Street and Eller Road). Officers identified both of the suspects as juveniles and transported them to the Fishers Police Department where they met with their parents and Fishers Police Detectives. In addition to the thefts from vehicles it was also determined that the two juveniles may also have been involved in stealing two cars, from a parking lot in Marion County, earlier in the evening. Both of the stolen cars were recovered in the Deer Brook Apartment Complex. The juveniles were transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

The second group of thieves was located shortly after 6:00am in the Gatewood Neighborhood (106th Street and Allisonville Road). A Fishers police officer observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the neighborhood. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the 2003 silver Acura passenger car and identified the two men inside. During this investigation officers located a small amount of marijuana, a stolen handgun, stolen credit cards, and stolen jewelry inside the vehicle. It was determined the stolen credit cards and jewelry belonged to a Fishers resident. Officers were able to return the property to the rightful owner. The suspects were transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
