A man was pronounced deceased yesterday morning after reportedly walking into traffic on the north east side of Indianapolis.

Late yesterday morning at approximately 10:00 a.m., Indiana State troopers responded to a personal injury crash on I-465 EB at the 32.6 mm, just west of Keystone Avenue.

Preliminary investigation and witness statements reveal that a male subject was standing on the EB emergency shoulder and walked into the right lane of traffic. A 2013 Freightliner semi- tractor trailer, driven by Fred Mullins II, 43, of Ingalls IN, struck the male as did a 2002 Acura passenger car, being driven by James Dittoe, 71, of Carmel. The Acura was in the right lane following the semi-tractor trailer.

The male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Sha Htoo, 44, of Indianapolis. His family has been identified.

Investigators did not locate a disabled vehicle in the area that the male may have been walking from. It appears the male subject may have walked onto the interstate from a side street.

East bound traffic was restricted for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted and the wreckage removed. No citations were issued.
