The Fifth Annual Artisans’ Fare: A Fundraiser, benefitting the SullivanMunce Cultural Center is on Nov. 22, and according to Patricia Scott, event co- chair, foodies and art lovers alike will appreciate this unique shopping and tasting experience and it is perfectly timed holiday shopping.

Five years ago this event was created to allow attendees a rare opportunity to sample, discuss, and purchase these exceptional products directly from the artisans.

“All artisans are carefully selected for their small-batch, handcrafted and high quality products that are not found in typical stores,” Scott said.

Scott and the committee’s favorite aspect of the Artisan Fair is witnessing the two typos of people, foodies and artists, come together.

“When you bring a group of food loving artisans together, there is some amazing chemistry,” Scott said. “They really enjoy meeting, shopping and networking with the other vendors. Preservation, a new vendor for us last year, opened a cafe and shop late last year and they now feature several of the artisans that they met at the Fare.”

Friday Night Preview Party—Open to the Public

The fare’s preview party will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 21 will feature live jazz, hors d’oeuvres and libations.

“The preview party offers guests the first opportunity to sample and shop for themselves as well as those on their holiday shopping lists,” Scott said. “In addition to wine and craft beer, the bar will serve champagne cocktails, featuring Sage’s Simple Syrup’s champagne topper line.”

Tickets for the preview party are available online at www.SullivanMunce.org for $50 per person or by contacting the SullivanMunce at 873-4900.

Saturday Shopping

This festival for foodies, gathers 25 of Indiana’s premier food and drink artisans. The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 in the SullivanMunce Cultural Center, at 225 Hawthorne St.

“Since we began with the event, food artisans and food shows have really taken off, thereby increasing competition,” Scott said. “We spend the year scouting new and upcoming artisans so we can bring a unique selection of both food artisans and visual artists with food-related work.”

Saturday admission is $5 for adults and children 12 years old and older, and is free to those who attend the preview party.
