On Dec. 5, all members of the Zionsville Town Council attended the 11 a.m. ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Ford Road Bridge reconstruction.
However, while the bridge was expected to be open to the public by noon, town officials have confirmed that it will open on Tuesday, Dec. 9 to the general public.
Zionsville Fire Dept. officials were also in attendance at the ceremony because the new bridge, which cost an estimated $1.6 million, will be able to hold fire engines, unlike the old bridge.
